How Split PDF works

  1. 1.Choose a PDF.
  2. 2.Pick how to split it: every page, equal parts, custom ranges, or by file size.
  3. 3.Press Process — each part is built in your browser.
  4. 4.Download parts one by one, all at once, or as a single ZIP.

Privacy

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, never stored by PDFZova, and never shared with anyone. Closing the tab discards them. The only exception is if a future tool is explicitly labelled as server-processed — this tool is not one of those.

Frequently asked questions

Do split parts keep their quality?

Yes — pages are copied unchanged, not re-rendered. Text stays selectable and images keep their quality.

What if a page range is wrong?

You get a plain message naming the problem (for example, a page number past the end of the document) and nothing is downloaded.

Should I use Split or Extract?

Split makes several files out of one document. Extract makes one file containing only the pages you list — use Extract when you need a single chapter or section on its own.

Can the same page appear in two parts?

Yes. Pages are copied, not moved, so ranges may overlap and a page can appear in more than one part.

What does “By file size” do?

It groups pages until each part stays under a size you set — the right choice when an upload or email limit is the real constraint.

About Split PDF

When one PDF needs to become several, Split PDF cuts it by page ranges or into one file per page. Pages are copied, never re-rendered, so quality stays exactly as it was, and ranges may overlap if a page belongs in more than one output file.

Input
One PDF file (.pdf), up to 50 MB
Output
Multiple PDF files (.pdf) — one per range, or one per page
File limit
50 MB per file. Processing runs entirely in your browser — files never leave your device.

Which split mode do you need?

Every page separate gives you one file per page, best for pulling single pages out. Equal parts splits the document into a number of parts of similar size that you choose. Custom ranges let you choose the page groups yourself — type ranges, or tap pages below to build them. By file size groups pages until each part stays under a size you set, which is the right choice when an upload or email limit is the real constraint.

Split or Extract?

Split makes several files out of one document. Extract makes one file containing only the pages you list. If you need a single chapter, form, or section as its own document, Extract is the simpler tool; if you need the whole document broken into pieces — for example, one file per chapter — Split is the one to use. Both copy pages unchanged, so quality and selectable text are preserved either way.

Ranges, explained

Ranges look like 1-3, 5, 8-10: a dash for a run of pages, a comma between groups. Pages are copied, not moved, so the same page can appear in more than one part if your ranges overlap, and the original document is never changed. If a range is wrong — for example, a page number past the end of the document — you get a plain message naming the problem and nothing is downloaded.
